‘Towards Biodiversity Management in support of
Sustainable Development in Tropical and Subtropical EU’

Net-Biome ERA-Net (EU’s 6th Framework Program) is a consortium of 11 partners linking bodies related to the Overseas Entities from five European Member States, whose aim is to initiate and stimulate co-operation and co-ordination of research programs for the sustainable and integrated management of biodiversity, and in a way that would address the needs of the threatened ecosystems of these European ORs and OCTs.
Together with two national research agencies (ANR and FCT), the Net-Biome consortium announces the launch of the First Joint Call for trans-national and trans-regional research projects within the framework of the ERA-Net Net-Biome, which will fund research projects on biodiversity management in support of sustainable development in the Tropical and Subtropical Outermost Regions and Overseas Countries and Territories of Europe.
The Call is open between 26th November 2010 and 28th February 2011. 

The total amount of funding available for this call is close to 3.5M Euros among 10 funders (details on the agencies participating and their committed budget (.pdf, 172 KB)). 
Since Net-Biome Joint Call is funded through a “virtual common pot scheme”, applicants are bound to follow their national and/or regional regulations when it comes to funding.
